Tired of
staring aimlessly into your refrigerator trying to figure out what to make for
dinner? Rather than settle on another Hot Pocket, this summer two fabulous
Philadelphia restaurants will open their doors to teach you what to do with all
those fabulous farmer's market finds.
Chef Ben Byruch's global dim sum cooking classes at Sonam include a demonstration with heavy audience participation showing the class how to prepare several dishes while focusing on basic culinary techniques. Dishes will focus on the small-plate style Sonam is known for, perfect for entertaining. After the class, the audience will enjoy a lunch spread featuring their own creations, plus select menu items. Classes begin May 31 and will be held every other Saturday at 11 a.m. The class costs $40 per person and can accommodate 8-20 people. Private sessions can be reserved for special occasions, including birthdays and bachelorette parties. If you're up for a more in-depth culinary experience, Palace at the Ben will be offering a four-week long Indian cooking class. This course will teach the basic elements of Indian food preparation, how flavors blend together, and how to create a variety of dishes at a work station. Each class will feature plenty of tasting and dining on your own culinary masterpieces. Classes will be held Monday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. beginning June 23 and will be taught by Executive Chef Subhash Sarpal and General Manager Ryan Hendry. The $150 fee includes four sessions and all ingredients and equipment needed for the class. Space is limited and can be reserved by calling the restaurant directly. Sonam

Before everyone was eco-chic and
recycling became as popular as reality TV, GreenLine Paper Company opened as a
fully green online office supply store.
GreenLine offers hundreds of products from 100 percent recycled copier paper to compostable coffee cups and non-toxic cleaning products - even organic and fairly traded coffees, teas, sugar, and chocolate. GreenLine is dedicated to selling only recycled and tree-free papers, and many of the paper products are whitened without chlorine. The company reduces shipping waste by reusing shipping cartons and packing them with only recyclable paper or biodegradable peanuts. No new boxes are used for shipping unless they are already manufacturer packaged, and only post-consumer recycled or tree-free fiber paper is used for catalogs.
